Well the world got an eyeful of beauty today. Oh, we need that so badly. I won't discuss the other half of the show (check headlines if you want) except to say that where there is good, evil will also be near. So why are we always so surprised? I'm sure the evil only made the good look better! :)

I typically avoid Oprah, but I watched it yesterday and thought it was really great. Of course, I wasn't as crazy about how she kept having to go on about them never having a relationship with a man (other than Jesus), but otherwise -- I thought it was great how the Sisters were able to show their love for their vocation and their calling.
ReplyDeleteNow, I have to say that I didn't have a problem with the other half of the show. I had watched the special previously about that particular Geisha, and it gave me a very interesting look at the Geisha life. I think they actually paired up well together. In both lives, it is a calling that takes many, many years of training. It is also a celibate life where you live in a community of your sisters. And, joining either of them makes you very counter cultural. So, it really did make sense together.
That being said, I did enjoy the half on the Sisters much more. (But, having seen the special about that Geisha, I feel like they left off so much that would have made the parallels much clearer.)
