Kids Say the Darndest Things Friday! A Spanish Lesson

Enter your link below. Grab your button on the right margin!

Hello all! Happy Friday! The first of today's funny sayings comes from Mickey, around three years ago. Molly and I were attempting to teach him how to say "please", por favor, "thank you", gracias, and "you're welcome", de nada, in Spanish. He understood, but his pronunciation was a little off, especially on gracias. So, we kept having him repeat it. Finally, fed up and thoroughly annoyed with everything, he yelled, "Gr-rec...Gr-r...as....Ah, man! Grass-seeds!" ....Fail...

Another time, when he had ripped off the head of his foam giraffe (he was four), he announced to the world, "In Spanish, a giraffe with a broken neck off is called a hooshie-feather!" Okay then....

We then tried again with Kevin (at six). We only knew how to say "Good Night" buenas noches, and repeated it for him several times until he replied, "Bwennas noh-chess....no checkers either." Life's all a game to him...

Now it's your turn. Grab your link and enter your story! If you don't have a blog, just leave your story in the comment.

Please remember to keep your stories suitable for all the kids who read these stories! :D
